Welcome to the International Radiation Symposium (IRS2008) web site! In the 2008 edition, the symposium will be held at Mabu Thermas & Resort, at Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil from 3 to 8 August 2008. For the first time IRS will take place in a South America.
Foz do Iguaçu city is located at the triple-national border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay and is one of the most popular scenic venues in Brazil, with several nature and wildlife features, like Iguassu National Park.
The symposium is organized every four years by the International Radiation Commission (IRC, http://www.irc-iamas.org) which is part of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS, http://www.iamas.org). The goal of the symposium is to provide a venue to present up to date results about the current problems in atmospheric radiation and to encourage the exchange of ideas within the international community.
A half-page abstract (maximum length) will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee to decide upon relevance and scientific merit of the topic. During registration to the symposium, participants will be asked to submit a four-page extended abstract to be included in the IRS2008 book. In this edition, the four-page extended abstract will also be submitted electronically.
